If I Could Talk to the Animals... Just Imagine It....

If we could talk to the animals, just imagine it
Chatting to a chimp in chimpanzee
Imagine talking to a tiger, chatting to a cheetah
What a neat achievement that would be.

When I got up on Wednesday morning, I decided to walk around a bit and do some talking to the animals....     (we are north of Dallas, TX -- moochdocking in the rural yard of fellow Safari RVer's John and Crystal)

First I met these neighbor's horses on one side of John and Crystal's rural home.... It was a quiet pleasant morning, with no winds, and the sun was warming up the day.  I sipped my cup of coffee and chatted with these two lovelies....

Then I wandered over to the other neighbors and met these big cows named Cookie and Buttermilk.  They are the granddaughter's 4H project cows for showing.  Very friendly and Cookie came right up to the fence and wanted to nuzzle me with her snotty wet nose!   ewwwwww  She was soaking up the morning sun rays on her dark coat.  Buttermilk kept her distance, because by then she saw our dogs out of the motorhome and wanted to be sure they stayed over with Steve on their leashes... and to not come by her.  She told me that.

If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages
Maybe take an animal degree.
We'd study elephant and eagle, buffalo and beagle,
Alligator, guinea pig, and flea.

Then I wandered over into the Clevengers yard to see their biggest "DOG"  ....  gave a sharp whistle at the fence and here came their lovely "DOG" trotting up to me with mane and tail a flyin!

Yup.. this big galoot has an identity crisis and thinks he is a dog.  What a cuddly crazy mixed up horse! He will try to even eat dog food or anything else they give him.  He romps and plays and acts like a dog too.  His two little fuzzy partners in his field are just the cutest little Donks...  I forgot their names, but they were just too cute.

I went back to the motorhome to get a bag of carrots, because of course, they ASKED me for carrots... and seeing as we were "talking" they knew they could convince me to go and get some!   Once they ate up all of my carrots, they asked John to go back inside and get them some MORE carrots~!

We would converse in polar bear and python,
And we could curse in fluent kangaroo.
If people asked us, can you speak in rhinoceros,
We'd say, "Of courserous, can't you?"

Duke and Ducky could hear all this conversin' going on, and they were getting a mite jealous.  Duke says "I LIKE HORSES TOO"   and Ducky said "AS LONG AS IT'S NOT A COW, IT'S OKAY"  So I brought them close enough for a sniff at the big species-confused-horse.   They accepted each others as "dogs" and all was fine in the Clevenger place.   LOL

Now the Clevenger's other dog, Bella, needed to find out about our two mutts.  So she came into our motorhome to check out their travelling dog house on wheels.  Our dogs told her all about the cool places they get to sniff.  Sometimes it's sand, sometimes it's rocks, sometimes it's water, and sometimes it's snow~   Each time the door opens, it's a new place to sniff!  No fooling!  This rolling doghouse takes them everywhere!    Bella said she might try to go in their  rolling doghouse sometime too if it's that much fun.

Besides this menagerie, the Clevengers also have two wolf hybrids, that I thought I got a good pic of them too, but it came out blurry, and they have a few cats... plus a turtle!   Almost enough to open a zoo....

"I'm a dog, you got that?
D - O - G "

If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages
Think of all the things we could discuss
If we could walk with the animals, talk with the animals,
Grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals,
And they could squeak and squawk and speak and talk to us.

For lunch, John and Crystal wanted to treat us to some more of the local eating establishments...  they know of this great little taco stand down the road, and said it's the best around!

They even had Mexican soft drinks...  although we were 500 miles from the Mexican border?

They suggested we try the tacos...  they were wonderful!!!
(I picked off my jalopenos and gave them to Steveio)

Talk about DEEEELLIIIICCCIIIOOOUUUUUSSSSSSSSS!!!!

Thank you so much Crystal and John for making our stay so much fun,
and sharing all of your animals with us!

From their place, we rolled on over to Denton, TX to meet up with Steve's cousin Tim and his wife Karen.   We were to also join little Kaleb, their grandson, and Steve's cousin Kathy who was watching him this week.  Sadly, little Kaleb is down with a cold or flu bug... so they didn't join us at Texas Roadhouse.   We had a nice meal, and a great visit catching up with Tim and Karen.   DANG! I didn't bring my camera!   We were gabbing so much after the meal when we went to visit the motorhome parked nearby, that I didn't take ANY pictures!    Oh geesh!   (slap to the forehead!)

It is now Thursday and we are winging our way north and east.  We in Oklahoma right now, hanging out for lunch and I heated up our leftover ribs and veggies from the Texas Roadhouse.. yummmmm   There was enough left from my meal last night to have a full lunch for both of us today.

  4. Oh animals have a wonderful way to communicate. We used to have a huge menagerie and it was so much fun. Hard work but fun. Sometimes talking to the animals is better than a human, at least they don't argue :)

  5. Believe it or not but I talk to cows whenever I'm around them. Most people don't realize what personalities they have.

  8. Have a safe trip home. I had a horse that thought it was human. She wanted to eat everything I did and tried to go into the house a couple of times. She escaped once and I found her at the neighbors porch looking in the windows. So glad they didnt look out and have a heart attack! LOL

    1. but the work-a-day world still has it's icy grip on our throats... sigh. So we have to go back. But we are looking forward to doing some fun stuff on our new-to-us house! We only lived in it for 6 weeks before taking off for vacation!
