NEW GRANDBABY on it's way - Sock Machine Table completed

Erin and Mark called this morning at 7:30 a.m.  They dropped Chelsea off at the daycare center, and were headed to the hospital in Green Bay, 30 miles away!   Contractions were 5 minutes apart and lasting a good minute strong.  I got the honors of calling ahead to the hospital for them and give all the info to the Labor/Delivery Dept. so the doc can be notified they are on their way.

So as I type this, the newest grandson for my little brood of grandtots might be making his appearance!

Later today, I will bring Chelsea down to meet her new brother, and bring Steve a change of clothes to meet me at the hospital near his place of work.   Wheeee heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

And here is a pic of week old Mason who was born last Thursday.  My, oh my, has he grown already in 7 days! Just look at all that red hair----  So happy our little grandsons and granddaughters are healthy wonderful little people who add so much to our lives.  Ahhhhhhhhh

Babies are sooo sweet when they are sleeping
(and not crying or pooping or teething!)

In the meantime, this might be something of interest to my fiber readers....  and my RVing readers too.

Many are concerned about how all of my fiber tools and toys are fitting in the motorhome when we go full time soon.   How do they all fit and how can I manage to take them all along?   I showed how the spinning wheel fits in the closet in my last blog.  (my table loom, disassembled rug loom and supplies ride in the basement compartment)

My sock machine stows in a tool box when not in use.  But when cranking, a sturdy table is needed to clamp on to.  I have a folding stool with a round wooden top that works quite well, and folds up and stows in the closet when not in use.

In a blog last week I mentioned that he was making me a new surface for the folding stool legs that I have already.   I saw a larger surface like this at a sockmachine gathering and wanted the same type for myself.   It is actually more stable than the round top because of the added weight now to the back side offsets the weight of the machine on the front side.

Here are the pics of the finished table surface Steve made for my sockknitting machine.
What a guy!

All done and stained and sealed with poly----  perfect!

Well, the next few hours should be bringing us a new grandson.  Little Chelsea has carefully examined all of the photos from when Mason was born last week.  She saw how little Allegra got to bring balloons and flowers, and how she wrote her baby brother a letter, and how to count his toes.  And of course how Allegra got to help "hold"  the baby.  So she knows the whole drill and routine.    She asked to look at those pictures over and over and I think she will be a wonderful Big Sister too.

Signing out---- Granmuddah and Granfaddah Pfun---  waiting for number FIVE!
