R.I.P. Rita Brown, Our Mother

It has taken me over a week to write this.  It's hard to come by the words.  It's hard to even type them.

We lost our Mumma, on May 4 in a horrible traffic accident in Florida.  She passed away instantly, and is now in Heaven with our little sister SueSue.

My step father Lyle is okay,  he was in another vehicle ahead of her.  They were running their last few errands,  just a few miles from home,  before getting ready to drive from Florida to spend Mother's Day weekend with all of us kids in Michigan.

Mother's Day will never be the same for any of us ever again.

We are heartbroken and devastated.

My sister and I miss our multiple and many daily chats on Messenger with mom.  I keep looking at my phone to see what she has written or what photos she has sent.

She could make something out of nothing, stretch things to make ends meet, and make the best out of all the crazy crappy heartaches that life had dealt her. She taught me to persevere. She always tried hard.

Artistic, creative, thoughtful, kind, gentle and adventurous.

A funeral service will be live streamed on May 22nd at 11 a.m. eastern time,  10 central,  from Windsor Baptist Church near Gainesville FL.

I will leave this here with beautiful photos and memories of a life gone too soon.

And my very last photo taken of Mom.

We love you.

  16. You do not know me, but I know Mrs. Rita and Mrs. Lois. Mrs. Rita was always very good to my family. She was so kind, funny, and creative. My children and I had great fun at the Zucchini Festival and Silver Springs with Mrs. Rita. We always looked forward to going with her to various church functions in Windsor. She loved my children and treated them like grandchildren. I am so very sad to hear of her passing. I always loved seeing her pictures from her travels. Mrs. Rita will never be forgotten by our family.
