At High Cliff State Park, the annual lake fly hatching and mating ritual has begun.
The volume of insects swarming in the air is unbelievable!

ReplyDeleteAnd I thought the love bugs were bad here in FL.! Oh my.... I would have to just stay indoors till that was over.... It does get over doesn't it lol
ReplyDeleteThe life span of lake flies is 10 to 14 days, but the Department of Natural Resources say they've seen more larvae in Lake Winnebago and that could mean a second wave in a couple of weeks.
DeleteI think I would get the home on wheels n motion and escape till it's over!
