MIGHT BE OFF LINE FOR A FEW DAYS...
WE ARE SO CLOSE TO THE MEXICAN BORDER
THAT OUR TABLET AND CELL PHONES
KEEP JUMPING TO THE MEXICAN TOWERS.
WHICH CAN RESULT IN ***HUGE*** DATA PLAN CHARGES!!!
I talked to Verizon this morning after our tablet said:
"WELCOME TO MEXICO"
LOL
So they said as long as we do NOT go into Mexico, they will credit us on our bill for any overages right now, but we will turn the tablet off, which is our router for the internet. So far the phones have not jumped, but we are not going to use them unless needed.
So might be a few days of no communications or blogs.. sorry!
Right down the road a piece, bout 3 miles, on the way to Del Rio from your campsite is a RV park on the right. Right next to a old gas station where hwy's 90 and 277 intersect. Pull into that old gas station.....good wifi connection.
ReplyDeletewe got an eeking of a weak signal up at Spur 406 or something named like that. Using my Wilson Antenna Booster brought us in a signal to get out.
DeleteWeird. Creepy, actually. That's a wee too close to the border for me. Ya'll stay safe and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh Betty... not creepy at all! Actually I think I feel less safe in big USA cities than out here in the desert. We are locked in at night snug as bugs in a rug. With all the rangers running around here, and other folks camping nearby, we are quite safe. Wait till you see my next blog with the couple from Australia with the VW bug they shipped here to tour the USA in!
DeleteYou got to do what you got to do. When I was in Terlingua I didn't have that problem, but that was almost 3 years ago.

ReplyDeleteWell you might as well just cross the border and come join us!

Oh I wish we could! But we have to be back to Wisconsin for the work-a-day world again by the last week of March! Got two grandsons turning 1 year old with parties to go to, and hosting the Easter Celebration for the Pfundtner Clan too.
